DORMY HOUSE BECOMES
'SMALL HOTEL OF THE YEAR' FOR THE HEART OF ENGLAND
Dormy House Hotel, in Broadway, had been short-listed in the Heart of England
Excellence in Tourism awards and, on Thursday night, marketing manager Orazio
Pollaci alongside his colleagues attended the glittering ceremony at Coventry Cathedral.
The Heart of England Excellence in Tourism Awards is a real quality mark in the industry
and celebrates the very best on offer. It is well known throughout the industry as the
“Tourism Oscars”. The Awards allow the industry to recognise some of the best
businesses in the region, and promote healthy industry competition and high standards,
helping to ensure that the Heart of England continues to grow as a world-class visitor
destination. During the evening, Dormy House – a stunning country hotel located in the
Heart of the Cotswolds - won the Small Hotel of the Year category at the Oscar-style
event. The award comes just two months after it was selected as one of fewer than 50
members of the elite Pride of Britain hotel group.
Marketing manager, Orazio Pollaci, said “the prestigious award is a real boost for the
hotel. We were over the moon when we won. The whole team was really thrilled that
Dormy House has been recognised by the Heart of England. It was a brilliant night – a
real Oscar event for the industry, and to be selected at the top of the tree is great news
for our staff, guests and conference users. Although Dormy House benefits from a
beautiful location and stunning scenery, it is not just this which has led to our success.
The team has worked really hard to achieve this award and this success reflects that
effort”.
Well earned praise from their industry goes to show that care, quality and attention to
detail, combined with a continuous investment policy, especially after the hotel
completed a hugely successful £600,000 redevelopment of 10 of its rooms, will result in
only one thing – success.
